Occupation
is an action arising from the occupation of space for vehicular traffic, using the body, understood as a carrier and noise generator. The idea is to walk instead of taking a car, taking advantage of traffic congestion in cities. To perform the action
developed a portable kit with a variety of 7 different horns from motor vehicles. A joystick on the arm to activate each of the devices.

This action has been executed in Mexico City and in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in the framework of the 7th. Mercosur Biennial 2009. -----

This is the mapping of my hometown paper in copper on bakelite, media used in the development of electronic circuits, which can be seen as analogies visual fabric of our cities.

Copper can draw the flow of electrical energy that powers a city, ie the representation of the city as a living entity.

This work has Been Shown in the exhibition Memoirs of an Ex-pedestrian in the Haus der Kunst Gallery in Guadalajara, Mexico and in The impolitic, an exhibition curated by Laura Bardier in the Palazzo delle Arti Napoli, Italy.

lives and works in Mexico City.


's artwork Marcela Armas is related to urban situations, actions, sound, site specific projects, video and documents. His work has been directed to investigate the ability of different materials and technologies to produce poetry of social reflection, review and notes the transformation of the urban experience and the shaping of social space, from the use of technologies that dominate the city landscape and energy uses in different circumstances.
Graduate School of Fine Arts at the University of Guanajuato and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Valencia, Marcela Armas has also received support from the National Fund for Culture and Arts Program Support New Media Research Multimedia Center in 2006 and currently CENART Program-Arts-Current MACG Bancomer 2009. Led in cooperation with LIFE workshops Gilberto Esparza 10, Fundación Telefónica in Buenos Aires, Lima, Santiago de Chile and Mexico City.
has exhibited his work individually and collectively in Mexico, Spain, Canada, United States, Brazil, Colombia and Italy.

BFA by the University of Guanajuato and MFA by the Politecnic University in Valencia, Spain. She has been suported by the Nacional Foundation for the Arts in Mexico for the development and research of New Media Projects. She also has been artist in Residence in the New Media Research Center in Mexico City.

She directed with Gilberto Esparza, experimental electronics workshops Fundación Telefónica (VIDA 10) in Perú, Argentina, Chile and Mexico.

Her work has been exhibited in Mexico, United States, Colombia, Spain, Brasil, Canada and Italy.
